Read our step-by-step booking guide to ensure you’re well prepared for your trip to Hidden Vale Research Station.

1. Think about your teaching/research needs

You’ll need permits for certain fieldwork activities and we recommend applying early to avoid disappointment.

If you’re conducting research or teaching activities that involve animals, you must follow ethical clearance procedures.

If you’re visiting us from outside UQ, approach government ethics bodies for advice.

In all cases, you must get your application approved before you start your activities.

Users that require permits must provide us with copies before arriving at the station.

If you will being using Hidden Vale Research Station for the first time please complete the relevant registration form*:

If you would like to conduct your Honours, Masters or PhD at Hidden Vale you will need to fill out the student registration form. You can also access our student support page for more information about how HVRS can assist you.
If you are a researcher wanting to engage with HVRS for teaching purposes, you will need to fill out the teaching registration form.
If you are an academic wanting to start a collaborative research project or your own research at HVRS, you will need to fill out the project registration form.

Once you have submitted your registration form please submit a booking form. We will reach out to confirm your registration and booking.
