Our vision
To secure and restore Australian native species and ecosystems.
Our mission
To restore and conserve habitats and wildlife populations for the benefit of future generations and, in doing so, to lead by example with innovative conservation solutions, sustainable operational infrastructure, and diverse educational programs.
Our strategy
- Research: Understand the factors contributing to the biodiversity, reproduction and survival of native wildlife, and determine and enact the most effective habitat restoration, rewilding and predator management approaches to restore and conserve these populations.
- Education and training: Inspire and train students and early- to mid-career researchers to become future leaders, practitioners and influencers in conservation and environmental sustainability.
- Sustainability: Understand the factors contributing to environmental and operational sustainability and optimise these throughout Hidden Vale Research Station and other Turner Family Foundation properties.
- Diversity: Celebrate and embed Indigenous knowledge and practices into Hidden Vale research, teaching and operations.
- Engagement: Engage with local communities in environmental and wildlife awareness and citizen science campaigns.
