Developing sustainable mountain bike practices for wildlife and habitat conservation

This project is available as either an Honours or PhD.It will investigate thresholds for levels of mountain bike activity that are sustainable for wildlife conservation. An Honours project would investigate wildlife species activity within varying distances from mountain bike tracks with different levels of activity. A PhD would extend this to investigating mechanisms and thresholds of disturbance in order to develop guidelines for the sustainable practice of mountain biking in nature conservation areas.

Project partners include: The University of Queensland, Dr Megan Brady (The Gainsdale Group)

Field assistance is available for this project (Honours & PhD) and PhD Scholarship top-up and operational funds may be available for the suitable candidate.
