Exhibited Animals Act 2015
As of 1 July 2016 all new applicants who reside within Queensland that would like to obtain a licence to exhibit and deal with native wildlife or exotic animal species must apply for a licence under the Exhibited Animals Act 2015 (Act).
The Exhibition Licence is issued for a term of three (3) years. The Department has a legislative 40 day processing time which is often extended due to the Departments requirement to request further information or clarification of information submitted. You can assist in making sure that your application is not delayed by ensuring all parts of the Exhibition Licence Application and all required information requested in the Management Plan is completed prior to submission. If you have read through the information in the relevant factsheets attached and read all information on the Exhibited Animals website and do not understand what is required please email Exhibitedanimalenquiry@daf.qld.gov.au or phone 13 25 23.
If you are forwarding your application via email you will receive an automatic response advising that your email has been received; this is confirmation that your application has been received. You will be contacted in due course if there are any issues with your application or further information for the progression of your application assessment is required. Please ensure that you do not contact the department requesting the status of your application prior to 40 days of receipt of the confirmation email. Application status requests only slow the application process and effects all applicants waiting on application processing.
To assist you in understanding the requirements of the Act, various factsheets have been attached to this email.
